Catching up with... Georgia
Georgia one of our Tuesday packing sessions volunteers. Georgia and the rest of the brilliant team unload and sort our deliveries, and pack them into parcels ready to to go out on Wednesdays.
Georgia says: We have so much fun packing your bags and find it really rewarding. For my day job I’m a Designer at Disney. I design anything from bed spreads to funny dog costumes. It’s sounds really fun but it’s not as fun as the food bank, I’ve made loads of new friends and we laugh while we pack.
We caught up with Georgia over WhatsApp to ask her some very important questions.
Who do you call when you want to have fun?
My best friend Rosie! She’s always up for fun and we're always on the same page, we used to live together at Uni and she’s like my sister! Whether we’re having a bottle or two of wine or watching crappy telly were happier together! Rosie Also volunteers with us too, so we get to see each other which is double whammy amazing!
What do you collect?
What don’t I collect might be the easier question! I’m a shopping addict - guilty as charged! But in particular I do love a kitchen gadget to help with cooking food which- I’m obsessed with! My favourite has to be my Dame Edna style onion chopping glasses.
If you could buy any building in London and live there, which would it be?
Buckingham Palace obviously - who wouldn’t want to live there? Or perhaps The shard because of the unreal views.
What's your most treasured possession?
My Bike. Since moving to London during the pandemic, I’ve fallen in love with cycling around and exploring the City wind through my hair - well under my helmet anyway!
What's your guiltiest pleasure?
Chocolate. Chocolate and more chocolate. I’m so addicted I’ve had to give it up for lent can’t wait till it’s chocolate time again!
And last, but certainly not least, cat or dog?
Dogggg - I have a dog called Poppy at home. She's half a Bichon Frise & half Yorkshire terrior and she’s so flooofy and makes me so happy. I also enjoy cycling down to Greenwich and meeting my friend Caroline and walking a dog from the doggy day care there, so cute!
This is the fourth edition of an ongoing series celebrating members of the BGFB community. Thanks Georgia for all your enthusiasm and dedication!
